Corey Taylor announces debut solo album CMFT

CMFT, which we can only assume stands for Corey Mother Fucking Taylor, is set to drop through Roadrunner Records on Friday October 2.

Recorded at Hideout Studios in Las Vegas with producer Jay Ruston, the album is jam-packed with original material from across Corey Taylor’s career, including newly written songs and tracks that can be traced back to his teenage years.

To accompany the news, Taylor has shared two new songs to offer a glimpse of what to expect from CMFT. ‘CMFT Must Be Stopped’ sees Taylor adopt a sung-rap style over a hard rock instrumental, and features guest verses from Tech N9ne and Kid Bookie. It’s also paired with a wrestling-themed music video that features cameo appearances from the likes of Lars Ulrich, Marilyn Manson, Chris Jericho and Rob Halford.

Corey Taylor has also shared another track from the record, ‘Black Eyes Blues’, which you can listen to in full below.

It definitely sounds like CMFT is going to be a mixed bag of a record that covers a whole heap of sonic territory, and there’s no doubting that it’ll tick the boxes for any fan who’s been waiting patiently for this day to come. Watch this space….
