Collings reveals acoustic guitar paying tribute to founder Bill Collings

The AT 16 features a round soundhole, a rare flamed mahogany construction, and an Eastern Red (Adirondack) spruce top. This tribute model pays homage to the archtop that Bill Collings built in 1983, and commemorates the occasion with a label signed by each person who had a hand in creating the guitar.

Bill Collings began building guitars in the mid-‘70s on his kitchen table with only a few hand tools. He grew his guitar operation throughout the following decades and expanded his craft by adding more stringed instruments to his repertoire, including mandolins and ukuleles. Since Collings passed away in 2017, his company has reassured players they will “continuing on the trail that he’d blazed for us over many years.”

Collings is available in Australia through Gladesville Guitar Factory, Acoustic Centre, and The Rock Inn.
