Children Collide announce new LP, share single ‘Aurora’

The band have accompanied the good news with the release of new single ‘Aurora’, their first taste of new music in seven years. It’s a rollicking indie stomper with a raucous chorus section, driven by an irresistable descending bassline and adding in a sprinkle of electric vibraphone for good measure – like all good songs should.

In a statement accompanying the release, guitarist/vocalist Johnny Mackay, who you might also recognise from his side project Lord Fascinator, dated ‘Aurora’ all the way back to a folder in a harddrive from 2012saying “I kept listening back to the demo and remembering how much fun it was playing this kind of music. [‘Aurora’] was originally written for our third album Monument, so it’s felt like unfinished business ever since and a big part of the reason we made another album. In the end if felt like it was burning a hole in my hard drive, so we had to put it out.”

To celebrate the launch of the new single, Children Collide are heading out to play two special shows in Melbourne and Sydney this December, supported by Chela on both dates. Check out those details below, and be sure to stay tuned to hear more from these indie trailblazers soon!
