Boss debut the mighty GT-1000CORE effects processor

We all know that Boss are the original kings of effects modelling, but there’s been a number of contenders who’ve risen to the plate in recent years to challenge their market stranglehold – Line 6 and Headrush to name but a few. With the GT1000CORE, Boss seeks to remedy all misgivings, delivering a feature-packed unit with an abundance of routing options and tech under the hood.

The GT1000CORE boasts more than 140 amps, cabinets and effects modeled on an array of iconic models from history, including vintage Boss stompboxes and algorithms from newer builds. Users are able to employ a staggering 24 effects blocks and two amps simultaneously, and there’s also a built-in looper for rehearsals and jamming.

On top of functioning as a USB audio / MIDI interface, the GT1000CORE makes use of a crisp 32-bit AD/DA conversion and a 96 kHz sampling rate, as well as Augmented Impulse Response Dynamics to make for a hyper realistic air-pushing experience. There’s also another 16 onboard user IRs to use, should you need.

Patch switching on the GT1000CORE is as fast as anything else on the market, and the unit will also carry over your delay or reverb tails to ensure zero dropouts. All of the unit’s three footswitches are fully customisable, and amp channels can be automated via MIDI or CTL out, while the large high resolution display should make for easy navigation and tone tweaking.

Dive into the demonstration of the GT1000CORE below to check out exactly what it’s hiding under the hood. Boss might have just unleashed a monster of an effects modeller here!
