Bluesfest drops second lineup announcement featuring Paul Kelly, Julia Stone and more

Paul Kelly, Gary Clark Jr, and Hozier also join the lineup alongside the first announcement’s Kurt Vile, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Snarky Puppy and more.

Of the second announcement’s 19 acts, ten are female, two contain both male and female members, and seven are all male, whereas the first announcement featured four acts with female members, drawing sharp criticism from activist group LISTEN and the Twittersphere.

In a statement today, Bluesfest Director Peter Noble said, “This truly is an all killer, no filler announcement from top to bottom with many more to come, and we are very proud of it.”

2019 will also mark Byron Bay Bluesfest’s 30th anniversary, with more lineup announcements to come.
