Black Stone Cherry Frontman Gets Honoured With New PRS Signature Model

black stone.jpg

Frontman of one of the world’s best Southern Rock bands, Robertson is a devotee of the Singlecut body style and his new guitar is based on this classic PRS design with a mahogany body, bevelled maple top and flame veneer.

The guitar’s key highlights include the custom Black Stone Cherry Burst finish and the and the Wide Fat profile neck.

Robertson’s obsession with old-school tone is captured in the guitar’s on-board electrics. The unique pickup combination of a US PRS 57/08 humbucker (bridge) and a SE Soapbar (neck) is harnessed to a simple three-position toggle switch and volume/tone for each pickup, which allows access to a wide range of distinctive and characterful rock ‘n’ roll voices. The workmanlike simplicity is reflected in the rock-solid but highly adjustable PRS stoptail bridge.

The guitar is a beauty and will suit guitarists looking to achieve an old-school, Southern Rock tone. The only downside of the announcement from PRS is that the guitar will only be made available to European markets… Bummer!
