Bjork has announced the release of a career spanning songbook, featuring 34 tracks from her nine album career. Never one to follow traditional paths, instead of providing simplified notation and tablature, the Icelandic singer's 34 Scores For Piano, Organ, Harpsichord and Celeste will include three 'levels' of arrangement for each song.
Having previously shot videos in complete 360 degrees to appearing in an art gallery as an avatar, blurring the boundaries of music, is something that Bjork has always done.
Including tracks from Debut, Post, Homogenic, Selmasongs, Vespertine, Medúlla, Volta and Vulnicura as well as the Drawing Restraint 9 soundtrack, the sheet music will incorporate customisable artwork and fonts. Developed in collaboration with her longtime pianist Jonas Sen, the multiple arrangements range from the original keyboard notation to slight variations to radically different arrangements that are described as almost new compositions.
34 Scores for Piano, Organ, Harpischord and Celeste is out Monday June 5 to preorder head here.
