Billie Joe Armstrong is selling a collection of Green Day gear

The Green Day gear set to be sold through the online store features a mixture of items from Armstrong’s home and studio collection, including three a 1970s Martin D-41 used on ‘21 Guns’ and other tracks from their 2009 album 21st Century Breakdown, one of three Les Paul Specials, and three of his favourite Gibson Les Paul Juniors.

“When Green Day was on tour, I was always looking for Les Paul Juniors at local guitar shops, and I started to accumulate a collection,” said Armstrong. “At one point, we’d walk in, open the door, and the guy behind the counter would say, ‘Les Paul Junior, right?’ And I’d say, ‘Yes, sir.’”

Also up for sale is the Victoria tweed amp referred to as “Little Vicky” used by Armstrong on the unforgettable title track to Green Day’s 2004 LP, American Idiot. The sale will also feature two Silvertone amps used on Uno… Dos… Tré!, and several Gretsch guitars used during the American Idiot tour.
