Arturia have announced a free online firmware update for the BeatStep Pro v2, adding dozens of extra features to the formidable MIDI sequencer.
Following consumer demand, Arturia have finally added Korg Volca compatibility to the BeatStep Pro v2, giving users the option to patch multiple devices to improve step synchronisation and live sequencing capabilities. The update also includes brand new polyrhythmic drum programming, as well as the ability to save pattern chains via the sequencer's 16 onboard projects.
The firmware update also adds an arpeggio/roll feature for use with the touch strip built into the device, as well as an octave randomizer for the option to add a wild touch of unpredictability to various step sequences. Arturia have also added a pad-based editing function to v2, replacing the confusing knob-based system for intuitive workflow and further expressive capabilities.
