The project comes from the Secretly Group, which is a collection of independent American record labels such as Secretly Canadian, Dead Oceans, and Jagjaguwar, It aims to release a track a day for the first 100 days of Trump in power, and the past two days has seen additions from the punk duo PWR BTTM and Animal Collective’s Avey Tare. Upcoming contributions are expected from Will Oldham, Jens Lekman, and Toro Y Moi.
The idea is to raise money and awareness for groups and individuals who come under threat from policies enacted by the Trump administration. These include the pro-immigrant group Cosecha, climate change campaigners People’s Climate Movement, and All Above All, which fights to provide abortion costs for women on low incomes.
