Alice Skye, A. Swayze & The Ghosts, Cable Ties + more announced for SXSW 2020

The newest wave of Aussie bands is dominated by Melbourne-based artists, with nine of the 14 new acts hailing from the Victorian capital. Among those, Alice Skye will be making the trans-Pacific trip for the March festival. This year, she won the AMWA Emerging Artist of the Year award, and she will be playing NYE On The Hill.

Other Australians in the offering are A Swayze & The Ghosts, Cable Ties, Kota Banks and Sui Zhen. The full list is available below.

Meanwhile, Roger Waters has been announced as keynote speaker for the mid-March main-event. After his Us + Them world tour in 2018, the Pink Floyd bassist and singer released a concert film this October that screened in movie theatres around the world. He joins other SXSW speakers 50 Cent, Mumford & Sons’ Ben Lovett, bassist and YouTuber Adam Neely and designer Tommy Hilfiger.

Filmmaker Erin Lee Carr, who’s work includes the USA gymnastics scandal documentary ‘At The Heart Of Gold’, has also been announced as a speaker.
