They’ve been fuelling rumours with cryptic social media posts for months, and now The 1975 have finally announced they’ll be releasing not one, but two albums over the next 12 months.
The band revealed album details during an appearance on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show, where they also premiered their first new song in two years, ‘Give Yourself a Try’. This morning, a new music video for the track was shared which sees The 1975 changing their image yet again ahead of the additions to their discography.
The first album, A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, is set for release in October, with follow-up record Notes on a Conditional Form expected to arrive in May 2019. The 1975 also shared plans to tour in January 2019, and we can only hope those plans will include another visit to Australia. In the meantime, fans can listen to the band’s latest track and try to predict what’s in store for the two new records.
