“I feel even better about this guitar than I did a year ago,” said St. Vincent, AKA Annie Clark. “I’ve been playing it every single day, really putting it through the paces and writing song after song on it. It’s just been like the gift that keeps on giving.”

As the 2016 model did, the guitars are made with an African mahogany body, have a Music Man Modern tremolo, St. Vincent inlays, Schaller locking tuners, a 5-way pick up selector and 3-mini humbucker pickups. The instrument’s design has been described as a true collaboration between the artist and the company, including it’s striking, angular look.

In a recent interview with Guitar World, Clark explained that she wanted to make a guitar that was more suitable to the female body, as well as general appearance. “I was always finding when I was playing onstage the guitar would cut across one of the best features of the female body, which is your waist,” she said. “I carry my guitar pretty high, so I had to make all of these costumes based on the fact that you wouldn’t be able to see if I had a waist or not.”

The St. Vincent Signature comes will come in four options: Stealth Black, Tobacco Burst, Polaris White, and Heritage Red.

St. Vincent is a world renowned American guitarist, singer and songwriter, whose last album, 2014’s St. Vincent, won critical acclaim and a Grammy award for Best Alternative Album.

The 2017 St. Vincent Signature series will be available to preorder from Friday March 3 at cmcmusic.com.au.
