BANDCAMP TO DONATE 24 HOURS PROFIT TO TRANSGENDER LAW CENTRE

‘Bandcamp is a platform for artistic expression, and all manner of variance in experience and identity, including gender and sexuality, is welcome here,’ said the company in a statement on their blog. ‘We support our LGBT+ users and staff, and we stand against any person or group that would see them further marginalised. This includes the current US administration, and its recent capricious declaration that transgender troops will no longer be able to serve in the military.’

The company also noted that the decision to exclude transgender people from the military was partly motivated to help fund the country’s border wall, a move they say exposes the administration’s ‘cynical, discriminatory agenda.’

Fans can help Bandcamp support trans rights simply by purchasing music through the website, while artists or labels can support the cause by sending some or all of their shares today directly to the Transgender Law Centre.
