CLARITY

One word that sums up the sound form these in-ear headphones certainly is ‘clarity’. It’s perhaps a little unnerving to begin with, as I found myself really listening to certain familiar tracks for what felt like the first time. There were elements to the recordings that
I previously hadn’t even heard or taken notice of until I listened to them through these ear-buds. For those of you who purchased a copy of David Bowie’s Dark Star, you really need to listen to it through a pair of ATH-E50s. So many people have said it needs to be heard through headphones, and these are leading the charge for the choice of headphones you should use for just that purpose if you ask me.

ISOLATION

Sure, it did take me a while to figure out how to get these fellas out of the packaging without completely destroying it, but it says something about the fit they offer, in a way. Sitting so snugly in their packaging, once out they continue to sit snug when they are correctly fitted in your ears. The rear hanging cable, with the aid of the adjustable over-ear hooks, ensures a perfect placement and a set of ear-buds that go unnoticed when worn. With the correct choice of the four different rubber mouldings supplied with the ATH-E50s, you should be able to achieve a comfortable t that feels like you are not wearing any ear-buds at all. Getting the right sizing in the moulds not only ensures you get a proper connection for the bass response, but it aids in the isolation process that will have your wife screaming at you from another room and you never even knowing about it for twenty minutes. These buds put you in the place where the music is and remove unwanted external sounds, allowing you to get on with the task at hand, enjoying the music. From musicians to engineers, producers and end user listeners, everyone is going to love what they hear through the ATH-E50s.
